A head above the rest - Abstract


These gargoyles are on the outer wall of Windsor Castle in the U.K. Their mouths are spouts that allow water to run off of the ledge of the building. More recent gargoyles are totems more than functional water drainage systems.

Sundown I think it's a shame


Sun going down in Red River Gorge geological area in KY. Most days the sun is enveloped by the thick moisture laden fog that sits atop the river. There are beautiful sandstone cliffs that look over the entire area. We use the book "Hinterlands" by Jerrell Goodpastor to guide us to the least visited cliffs with the best light.
