They called me eight eyes in school

So the title is not all that great but it's all I could come up with. Kids used to call me four eyes in 6th grade so at least it means something to me. This nursery web spider has eight eyes & eight legs. It carries it's little spider babies in its jaws and then creates a beautiful web for them to hatch in. They are very protective mommies.

Let's face it, I'm cute

This photo was taken with a Nikkor 60mm micro lens. This little guy must have been an older model because he was slow enough to catch. After a little coaxing he sat on the stick & begged to be photographed. It could just be that the SB-800 had blinded him and he couldn't find his way out of the net. Whatever works, right?

I only have eyes for you

We love playing around with our Nikkor 60mm macro. This spider didn't appear to have any colors besides brown. It was hard to get him/her to just sit there since it is in its nature to jump. A little bit of patience and a lot a bit of refrigeration helped to get this lovely shot.
