Bourbon Barrels
White Oak bourbon barrels in Central Kentucky at the Buffalo Trace distillery. White Oak barrels are used only once for bourbon and then sold to Ireland and Scotland to help flavor Scotch and Irish Whiskey. The inside of the barrel is charred first enhancing the woods ability to leach its flavor and color. Boubon is only officially made in Bourbon County, KY using the iron-free limestone water and the white oak barrels.
