Isn't it iconic, don't cha think

This Yellowstone Bison and many of her friends stand around the warm spots of steam rising when it starts to get cold outside. Many a bison has been badly burned and killed just trying to keep warm. Yellowstone NP was one of our favorites and we highly recommend camping and visiting there for no less than 2 weeks as there is much to see and do.

This Yellowstone bison was warming himself one chilly morning over a fumarole. It is common in the winter to see many bison in these area's of the park keeping warm.
