Sunrays in the mist

If you wake up at 5 am, get out of your tent and set up your gear immediately you will get a shot of the clouds wrapping around the tops of the mountains like a soft blanket on a baby. When the sun finally reaches a point that is higher than the hills it shines down on the clouds attempting to reach the life that is waking up below.

Amani means Peace - Amani National Forest Tanzania

This is one of my favorite pictures. This trail is in Amani National Forest which is one of Eastern Africa's most diverse eco-systems. The land and the forest is said to be protected but every villager we spoke to said that the only work they could find, outside of the low paying tea plantations, was to work illegally for the timber cutters.
