The Aracari
This is our the first of our Costa Rica bird series. This collared aracari is in the toucan family. It is smaller in size than a toucan and has a serrated upper bill/beak. It is razor sharp and I will post a picture later that shows it in detail. The aracari will break open unripe papaya and eat the fruit while sitting in the tree.
